John and Sarah Craig opened Southwest Missouri Mini Trucks LLC on Nov. 1 at 2337 E. Kearney St. The business sells mini utility vehicles imported from Japan that are used for agricultural and lawn and garden purposes. The four-wheel drive, four-cylinder trucks, with a base price of $5,000, have heated cabs, are 10.5 feet long, get about 35 miles per gallon, and can haul 1,500 pounds, said Sarah Craig, who handles marketing. They are manufactured by Honda, Suzuki and Toyota. The Craigs also own and operate Trussell's Front Wheel Drive at the same location. Hours: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Armor Roofing & Sales LLC

Armor Roofing & Sales LLC opened Feb. 1 at 4207 W. Sierra St. in Battlefield. The business installs roofing on new and existing homes and businesses, and also can apply an acrylic spray-on material to metal roofing that provides a restored, more durable finish. Owner David Davison says he has 15 years of experience "hammering the shingles in place," and another 15 years in sales and as project manager for several roofing companies. He estimates the cost of re-roofing a 2,000-square-foot ranch home with composition shingles at $4,700. Davison has no full-time employees, and uses subcontractors. Eastlawn Funeral Home

Eastlawn Funeral Home opened Jan. 5 in the refurbished chapel at Eastlawn Cemetery, 2244 E. Pythian St. The Tampa, Fla.-based Keystone America business offers traditional, cremation and prearrangement plans and other funeral services. Keystone America also owns three Klingner-Cope funeral homes in Springfield, and Dub Townsend is general manager of all four facilities. Eastlawn Funeral Home employs five, all of whom are shared among the Klingner-Cope funeral homes. Operations manager Lenny Cope estimates that Eastlawn Cemetery was established around 1918.
