Longboat Outfitters LLC
Kyle Kosovich started Longboat Outfitters LLC on Jan. 1, offering guided tours for floating, camping, fishing and hunting trips. A self-described "river guide," Kosovich said he is available for trips on all Missouri Ozarks streams, and he provides all equipment and food for overnight trips. Rates depend on the client's destination. Kosovich also builds custom johnboats, flat-bottom wooden boats used in streams. He is employed part time as an educational guide and grant coordinator for Watershed Committee of the Ozarks, a nonprofit that works to protect the area's water sources. Kosovich, who holds a bachelor's degree in fish and wildlife biology from Missouri State University, plans to start a blog at www.longboatoutfitters.com about the history of the White River and the use of johnboats. Hours: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone: (417) 293-3860.
