Ziggie's Sidewalk Café & Pub
Ziggie's Sidewalk Café & Pub, the 14th location in the Ziggie's food empire, opened June 5 at 319 W. Walnut St. The new branch is owned by Stacy Bussard, wife of Ziggie's district manager Scott Bussard, and is both the first Ziggie's to open in a bar district and to include an outdoor patio. Ziggie's Sidewalk Café & Pub, which competes for the breakfast, lunch and late-night eating crowds in the downtown area, employs roughly 25. Managers hope that drinks and dishes unique to that branch will draw customers without hurting other Ziggie's locations. Scott Bussard estimated costs for opening the restaurant to be between $60,000 and $70,000, and he expects profitability within eight months. Polk County Health Center
Polk County Health Center's 7,000-square-foot facility, which opened May 11 at 1317 W. Broadway St. in Bolivar, is twice the size of its original structure built at the same location in 1977. The center has 17 full- and part-time employees who provide income-based health care and immunizations to women, infants and children. Administrator Michelle Morris said financing for the $848,000 building was provided by a grant from the Missouri Foundation for Health, funds from the DeLarue Trust and a loan through the Bank of Bolivar. Deal N Wheels LLC
Deal N Wheels LLC opened in late March at 3040 W. Republic Road selling preowned luxury and sports cars. Owner Landon Ghan has been in the used car business for several years and said Audi, Volvo, Lexus and BMW are most often in demand. Ghan obtains his stock from local individuals and other dealers and said Deal N Wheels offers a 90-day warranty on each sale.
