Springfield Gold & Silver Buyers LLC

Springfield Gold & Silver Buyers LLC opened Sept. 21 at 1305 E. Battlefield Road. Owner Jason Troutt has more than 14 years of experience buying silver and gold with a family business in Michigan. The store, which employs two and operates in the former Linda's Flowers and Karl's Tuxedos building, pays cash for damaged or unwanted jewelry, gold and silver coins, and dental gold. Troutt estimates startup costs at around $75,000. The store also offers gold-buying parties and fundraisers during which invitees bring their unwanted jewelry for purchase by Springfield Gold & Silver Buyers, and a percentage of the sales total is given to the host. Hours: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday. Phone: (417) 823-9818.

Neat Repeats

Neat Repeats thrift store moved Oct. 1 to 412 N. Third St. in Ozark. Elise Crain, a member of the Christian County Domestic Violence Task Force that runs the store, said the leased location offers 6,000 square feet of retail space, more visibility and better access than the former storefront on 10th and Jackson streets in Ozark. Volunteer efforts kept relocation costs to a minimum, Crain said. The resale store, which employs two, accepts donations of gently used clothes, books, household items, furniture, appliances and electronics - the profits from which benefit Freedom's Rest, a Christian County shelter for women and children. Any clean donated items not offered for resale are given to Victory Mission in Springfield for distribution. Hours: 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Phone: (417) 485-4999.

PathWay Training LLC

Vickie Hensley, Darcy Owens and Rhonda Leeper started PathWay Training LLC and will hold its first training seminar - titled "What Recession?" - on Nov. 17-19 at Lamplighter Inn on North Glenstone Avenue. PathWay, based at 305 S. Kyler, Ste. 523, in Monett, offers business-training services in areas such as process improvement, time management, leadership development and software applications, according to www.pathwaytrainingllc.com. Hensley, who is also a corporate training coordinator with Jack Henry & Associates, said that trainers are hired on a contract basis and must have training and practical experience in the areas they wish to train. Startup costs were less than $5,000, Hensley said, and the company aims to operate debt-free. Hours: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone: (417) 669-6761.
