Cory and Jill Carr purchased Integrity Athletic Performance & Physical Therapy from Integrity Home Care in June and opened the outpatient physical therapy clinic on Sept. 1 at 2960 N. Eastgate. Cory Carr served for five years as director of therapy for Integrity Home Care and formed the division in 2008 with the intent of purchasing it from the company. He is a physical therapist specializing in orthopedic, neurological and athletic rehabilitation, and also is a certified weight trainer. Jill Carr is a certified public accountant, and the Carrs lease space from Integrity. The Carrs also operate an athletic training facility at 3105 E. Elm, Ste. E, offering soccer, speed and agility, weightlifting and adult fitness classes with two indoor turf fields available, according to www.integrityappt.com. Springfield First Community Bank

After nearly a year of operations from a temporary location, Springfield First Community Bank moved Oct. 13 into its permanent facility, 2006 S. Glenstone Ave. The full-service 16,000-square-foot branch, designed by H Design Group LLC and built by Eoff and Associates Inc., features a two-story lobby surrounded by perimeter offices and a café, along with a drive-through. SFC opened in October 2008 when three veteran bankers - President and CEO Brian Straughan, Executive Vice President Jan Baumgartner and Chief Financial Officer Kirk Bossert - left jobs at BancorpSouth following its 2007 merger with The Signature Bank. Springfield First Community Bank had raised $22 million in startup capital from 71 area investors when its state charter was approved in September 2008; Straughan said the bank now has $150 million in assets, along with a staff of 24, bringing a combined 437 years of industry experience. Springfield Sport & Spine opened May 4 at 1358 E. Kingsley St., Ste C. Owner and operator Dr. Tiffany Schafer is a licensed chiropractic physician, holds certifications with the Motion Palpation Institute and is a Titleist Performance Institute-certified golf fitness instructor. She also is certified in Active Release Techniques, a muscle and soft tissue treatment she said is used by professional sports teams including the Denver Broncos. Schafer offers treatment through chiropractic adjustments, muscle manipulation, and rehabilitation and therapeutic exercises. Also offered are semiprivate core training, injury prevention screenings and lectures. Startup costs for Springfield Sport & Spine were $3,500, and Schafer self-funded the venture. Hours: 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday and 8:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday.
