Girls N Grime
Erika Peters and Alisha Gray on Nov. 3 launched Girls N Grime, a commercial and residential cleaning service. The home-based Republic business offers janitorial and commercial cleaning services including vacuuming, windows, trash, interior cleanup and move-in preparation for new construction on a contract basis, said Peters, who has eight years of industry experience and previously owned Commercial Cleaning Service. Work with the company's first client - the Battlefield Fire Department - will begin in January, she said. Residential cleaning fees are based on the size of the home, but the average home costs about $80, Peters said. Peters and Gray are the only two employees, and they were able to keep startup costs to about $700 by using equipment Peters purchased for her first business. Hours: by appointment.
