Collins Oral Surgery & Implants
Dr. Tom Collins Sr. reopened his oral and maxillofacial surgery practice Nov. 1 at 4350 S. National Ave., St. B-122. Collins, who has been practicing in Springfield since 1967, performs implants, bone grafts, oral cancer surgeries and biopsies. Collins, one of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce’s 2007 Salute to Health Care honorees, brought the team treatment approach of dental implants to Springfield. He retired in 2008, but patient requests brought him back to work at 1628 S. Campbell Ave. until he decided to relocate to larger space. His new office, leased from Marlin Properties LLC, has three surgery suites, a sterilization room and a patient recovery room. He works with one part-time and two full-time employees. Hours: 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Phone: (417) 869-2501.

One80One LLC
Owners Justin Meek and Michael Schindele opened strategic marketing agency One80One LLC on Dec. 1 at 318 W. Walnut St. The company offers traditional advertising agency services – media buying, production, strategic planning and print ad design – but also has a focus on custom Web development, search-engine optimization and social media relations, Meek said. One80One leases 3,600 square feet on two floors from Ozam Productions, which was previously housed there, and the new venture has 14 employees, Meek said. Hours: 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone: (417) 865-0181.

Mike’s Unique LLC
Mike Cook opened Mike’s Unique LLC on Nov. 1 at 3335 W. Sunshine St., Unit 3, in space leased from Napier Properties. Operating as Mike’s Unique Collectable and Antique Flea Market, Cook’s shop has 200 vendor booths, selling a variety of items from décor to comic books to jewelry. Cook said he’s preparing to add another 100 booths from a waiting list of about 150 vendors. Cook was laid off as a regional manager for Brundage-Bone Concrete Pumping Inc., and after briefly accepting a company transfer to the company’s corporate office in Denver, he decided to return to Springfield and start a business. Mike’s Unique booth space rents for $65 a month, and vendors pay 10 percent of their sales. The store is managed by Richard Greene, who Cook said he had to lay off a year ago at their previous employer. He said Greene is working toward an ownership stake in the company. There are five other employees. Hours: 9 a.m.–6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m.–6 p.m. on Sunday. Phone: (417) 869-5400.
