Owners Scott and Liz Mitchell relocated their East Kearney Street All-American Rental store Feb. 5 to 1635 E. Kearney St. Scott Mitchell said the store carries furniture, appliances and electronics in such brands as Ashley, Whirlpool and Toshiba, and customers can buy outright or choose a rent-to-own option. With 7,077 square feet, the store has more than double the floor space of its previous 1305 E. Kearney St. spot. Heritage Construction Co. Inc. was the general contractor for the $575,000 structure, one of four the Mitchells own. Scott Mitchell said the store has seven employees, including Steve Decker, manager, and his wife, Debbie, assistant manager. Hours: 9 a.m.–7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m.–6 p.m. Saturday. Sprint by Wireless Lifestyle
Sprint by Wireless Lifestyle relocated Jan. 28 to 1538 S. Glenstone Ave. in the Glen Isle Center. Wireless Lifestyle is a Lenexa, Kan.-based preferred Sprint dealer with stores across southwest Missouri: two in Springfield and kiosks at Battlefield Mall; one in Branson; two in Joplin; and one in Pittsburg, Kan. The Glen Isle store sells basic cell phones, PDAs and accessories such as car chargers and Bluetooth devices, Tate said. Best sellers? Blackberry and Android platform phones, she said. Sudden Services Concierge
Doug Pearce started Sudden Services Concierge on Feb. 15. Based out of his Springfield home, Pearce offers personal assistance to corporations and individuals for a variety of needs, including event planning, pet sitting, personal security and shopping, home vacation watches and home security makeovers. Pearce, a Springfield native, worked in Kansas City as territory manager for Shaw Industries for 25 years before taking early retirement in December. “I didn’t want to sit around,” said Pearce, who also spent a few years in law enforcement. “I’m throwing a lot of spaghetti on the wall to see if it sticks. I’d welcome anybody to come up with a task for me and see what we can do.” He’s targeting busy professionals and overscheduled parents with fees starting at $30 for a la carte services and $300 a month on retainer for residential clients. Corporate fees are determined based on service type and duration, he said. He’s the sole employee but has some help from his fiancée, CoxHealth nurse Meg Young. Hours: 8 a.m.–6 p.m. Monday through Friday and on weekends by appointment. Phone: (417) 385-8684.
