Lyra: In Flight LLC
Aerialist Lyra Sprenger opened Lyra: In Flight LLC in mid-February. Keeping an office in her Ozark home, Sprenger offers cirque-style aerial performances for special events such as corporate dinners, weddings and parties. Sprenger wraps herself in long strands of fabric, called aerial silks, while performing drops, poses and slides high in the air. Sprenger started her career as a singer and dancer and has a bachelor’s degree in dance performance from Oklahoma City University. “I spent 10 years performing worldwide,” Sprenger said, including in China, Europe and on cruise ships to Mexico and Alaska. Originally from Rogersville, she moved back to the area to be closer to family and has spent the last three years training as an aerialist. Her Web site, www.lyrainflight.com, contains booking information, and Sprenger said her fees are roughly $700 per event. Hours: by appointment. Phone: (417) 860-7166.

Case By Case Legal Transcription LLC
Susan Bowen opened Case By Case Legal Transcription LLC on March 1. Bowen provides transcription services to attorneys and other business professionals. She started the business without outside financing, using her own savings and operating from her Fair Grove home. Bowen, who has worked as a paralegal or legal assistant for eight years, says most clients are individual attorneys without employees. Also, she said, larger firms might need help if their staffs get overloaded. “I can get them through rough patches,” she said. Bowen can accept documents for transcription on her secure Web site, www.cbclegaltrans.com. Phone: (417) 830-3324.

Fitness 19
Fitness 19, a national exercise chain with more than 150 locations, opened its first Missouri facility May 6 at 210 E. Sunshine St. Operating under Fitness 19 MO 235 LLC, franchisee Dan Bernard said membership fees start at $10 a month with no contract. The 10,000-square-foot club, recently remodeled after years as a restaurant – most recently Century Buffet – offers more than 50 pieces of cardiovascular, circuit-training and weight-training equipment, including elliptical bicycles, step machines and free weights. “It’s a family-friendly gym with people of all shapes and sizes,” said Bernard, adding that child care and personal training also are available. Bernard said each store is an independent LLC, and Fitness 19 lends franchisees an amount that covers startup costs, the amount of which he would not disclose. Franchisees manage the club with a percentage of sales forming the franchisee’s salary, he said. Hours: 5 a.m.–11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 5 a.m.–9 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m.–8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Phone: (417) 886-0019.
