Estate Management Services of Missouri LLC
Jimmy Rogers, with co-owner and son Chase Rogers, in May opened aquatic services company Estate Management Services of Missouri LLC. The Brunswick, Ga.-based company primarily maintains ponds and lakes by cleaning algae, stocking fish and killing overgrown weeds. The Willard office, 6657 W. FR 60, is the first location in the Midwest. “We mostly deal with golf courses, apartment complexes, and what we’ll do is come out and take a look and write up an estimate of what the chemicals are going to cost,” said Jimmy Rogers, whose other son, Tyler Rogers, is a sales representative. The business was self-funded. Service rates vary based on acreage and chemical usage, he said. Hours: by appointment. Phone: (417) 838-8040.

Smart Group & Gallery
Winston Riley opened Smart Group & Gallery with founding associate Kevin Richardson on June 4 at 405 W. Walnut St. The marketing agency focuses on social media, evidenced by its Blogspot site, www.smartgroupandgallery.com. Riley has 22 years of agency experience, including work in Noble’s food division, on the Tyson Foods brand. “We wanted to grow our business and not leave our art out,” Riley said. “We specialize in social media marketing, but we are a full-service agency.” Smart Group clients include Les Brown Jr.’s Band of Renown and his music production studio, Encore Music Presents; musician Randy Hamm; and Springfield Regional Opera. Riley estimated startup costs at more than $60,000. He bought the downtown building for an undisclosed price through Pelican Holdings LLC, a corporation set up with his wife, Anne Riley. The building’s 2010 valuation was $86,400, according to the Greene County assessor’s office. The studio office doubles as an art gallery which is open by appointment. Hours: 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon–5 p.m. the third Saturday of each month. Phone: (417) 868-8180.

Edward Jones
Financial adviser Dena Grover opened a branch of St. Louis-based Edward Jones at 510 N. West Bypass March 16. Grover has been an adviser with the company since February 2009. “To open a brand-new office is a rare occurrence,” Grover said. “Most of the time, you end up taking over an existing office.” Grover said she was given a target location from which to start and worked out of another office temporarily. Investment for the new location comes from the company, she said. The firm has 12,000-plus financial advisers who work with nearly 7 million clients. Hours: 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone: (417) 831-4855.
