Sound of Freedom USA LLC
Indoor gun range Sound of Freedom USA LLC opened July 2 at 4800 N. Towne Centre Drive in Ozark. Jane Paul, who is co-owner with her husband, A.G. Paul, and son Brad Paul, said Sound of Freedom has 16 lanes, each 25 yards long. “My husband has been an avid shooting enthusiast since his days in the Navy. It’s an idea he came up with about two-and-a-half years ago,” Paul said. The owners received a $1.5 million U.S. Small Business Administration-backed loan, originally through Great Southern then transferred to Liberty Bank, and another $378,000 SBA-backed loan through Rural Missouri Inc. The range charges $15 per hour, and membership rates are available; there are 350 members, Jane Paul said. The range also has 2,300 square feet of retail space and a classroom for gun safety, conceal and carry, and self-defense classes taught by a National Rifle Association-certified instructor. Hours: 10 a.m.–7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Sunday. Phone: (417) 485-4867.

Local Marketing Giant LLC
Chris Brewer and Brett Curry opened Local Marketing Giant LLC on June 1 at Courtyard Office Center, 1031 E. Battlefield Road, Ste. 211. The consulting firm holds workshops and one-on-one meetings to offer marketing knowledge to local, regional and national small businesses, said Brewer, a self-described serial entrepreneur, speaker and business coach. Curry is president of Curry Marketing Inc. The co-presidents held their first workshop July 27 with roughly 70 companies represented at Springfield’s Executive Conference Center, Brewer said, noting their presentation was on strategies to improve Web searches for  products and services. Local Marketing Giant’s 1,100-square-foot office is leased from Curbow Inc. Hours: By appointment. Phone: (417) 861-5099.

Which Wich Superior Sandwiches
Branson-based franchisees Lyle and Natalie Armstrong opened their second Springfield Which Wich Superior Sandwiches restaurant July 17 at 1155 E. Battlefield Road at the northwest corner of Battlefield and National Avenue. Lyle Armstrong said the unit in the strip mall was leased from Little Rock, Ark.-based Red National LLC owned by Mike Pierce. The couple’s other location is at Battlefield Road and U.S. Highway 65. Armstrong said he used personal assets to pay the $300,000 startup costs for the second store, including a $25,000 franchise fee. Armstrong said another store in Springfield is unlikely because of market size. Hours: 10 a.m.–9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Sunday. Phone: (417) 881-9424.
