The group of oil-producing countries known collectively as OPEC+ yesterday voted to move ahead with a planned increase in production.
The alliance is adding 400,000 barrels per day to its monthly overall production.
The move comes in defiance of the U.S. federal government, which last month asked the group to add more oil to the market to temper prices.
