Online game maker Zynga to slash 15% of workforce

Online game maker Zynga late Thursday said it will axe 15 percent of its workforce as it seeks to cut up to $35 million in costs and revive its struggling bottom line.

Deverloper of games such as "Farmville," Zynga will lay off 314 people and reduce spending on data-center infrastructure, according to Fox News.

The company also is spending $527 million to buy NaturalMotion, a privately held game maker, and its 260 employees across Oxford, London, Brighton and San Francisco.
