For the summer semester, 3,480 students are enrolled, according to a news release. Online course enrollment is at 1,332 students.
“The surge in online enrollment can be at least partly explained by climbing gas prices,” OTC President Hal Higdon said in the release. “… Seeing that gas prices were continuing to rise, we made a special effort to expand our online class offerings for the summer.”
Enrollment at OTC’s Richwood Valley campus is up 11.4 percent to 117 students, and enrollment at the school’s education centers throughout the region is at 163 students.
