Pabst Brewing Co. announced that its Schlitz Premium product is being put "on hiatus."
The roughly 175-year-old beer brand is one of the oldest still being made. Schlitz Premium traces its roots to the 1840s.
"Unfortunately, we have seen continued increases in our costs to store and ship certain products and have had to make the tough choice to place Schlitz Premium on hiatus," said Zac Nadile, Pabst head of brand strategy, in a statement to Milwaukee Magazine.
