St. John’s Clinic staff members raise money for good causes twice a year during their Force for Good campaigns. The latest campaign, Stand Up for Kids, generated $60,000 for the Development Center of the Ozarks and Child Advocacy Center. College of the Ozarks is one of the undergraduate schools named in The Princeton Review’s 2011 guidebook The Best 373 Colleges. The book includes profiles of the colleges with rating scores for all schools in eight categories, plus Top 20 ranking lists, based on a survey of 122,000 students. Among the lists C of O made were Stone-Cold Sober Schools, Town-Gown Relations are Great and Best College Theatre. Drury University and Missouri State University also were recognized by The Princeton Review, each earning a “Best in the Midwest” designation on its “2011 Best Colleges: Region by Region” list.
U.S. Congressman Roy Blunt and entertainer Andy Williams share the stage as part of the Making of America event at The Hughes Brothers Theatre on July 17. More than 500 people attended the day’s program sponsored by Tea Party Patriot HQ, National Center for Constitutional Studies and Mid-America Constitution Coalition. Also in attendance were several political candidates, including Democrat Scott Eckersley and Republican Billy Long, who will compete to fill Blunt’s shoes in November, and Branson entertainers.
