Slice of Nice
The Greater Springfield Board of Realtors began building its third Habitat for Humanity home June 25 at 2812 W. Scott in West Springfield’s McAL subdivision. The Jo Ellen Patton family is Habitat’s homebuyer partner family, and will be able to purchase the home at an affordable price. Partner families are required to complete homeowner education classes, volunteer at Habitat’s ReStore, help construct a neighbor’s home and help build their own home. Families are selected based on their level of need, their willingness to partner, and their ability to repay the no-interest loan. This is the third year in a row that GSBOR has chosen to partner with Habitat of Springfield. The home for the Patton family is the 69th Habitat home to be built in Springfield.
