JEEPERS

Thousands of Jeep owners will celebrate Camp Jeep July 25-27 at the White's Bar W Ranch near Branson, where more than 900 acres have been transformed to accommodate off-road driving, extreme sporting activities, family activities and entertainment. Camp Jeep is sponsored, appropriately enough, by the Jeep division of DaimlerChrysler. Perfomers Daryl Hall & John Oates, The Blues Brothers, featuring Dan Aykroyd and Jim Belushi, and "America's Tenor" New York Police Officer Daniel Rodriguez are scheduled to perform during the event.

TRIVIAL

Come 7 p.m. on July 25, 40 eight-member teams from throughout the Ozarks will be competing to be named "The Most Trivial People in the Ozarks," all in the name of raising funds for the Ozarks Literacy Council. The council urged people to collect "nerds, wonks and fountains of knowledge" to face off on trivia about all sorts of subjects, including movies, TV, theatre, geography, fiscal fitness, famous quotes, books, authors and children's literature. For a team entry fee of $250 per team, participants will pool their brain power for the chance to win different prizes during the event. More information is available from the folks at the Ozarks Literacy Council.

INFLUENTIAL WOMEN

SBJ is now taking nominations for its annual Women In Business awards, a luncheon event complete with a special publication, honoring influential women business leaders. The nominations deadline is Aug. 8; 20 women will be chosen from the applicants, and feted at the upcoming special event, which will be held in October. For more information, call Debra Fickbohm at 417-831-3238 or e-mail dfickbohm@sbj.net

Participants will take daily scenic drives to surrounding areas, including Bennett Springs, Stockton Lake, Forsyth and Roaring River State Park. The National Hillbilly Tour II is expected to showcase 125 cars and bring about 250 people from 20 states and Canada to the event, which celebrates the Model T as the designated car of the millennium. Information about the event is available from the Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau.
