Economic summit

The Ozarks Regional Economic Partnership will hold the fourth annual regional summit 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m. April 22 at the Schmidly Family Life Center in Mt. Vernon. This year's theme will focus on "Selling Your Community."

The purpose of the event is to teach ways of promoting the community as a product. Topics include developing a community business plan, using the Internet to market a community, future planning and a legislative update. A registration fee of $17 is required and includes all sessions, lunch and refreshments. For more information or to register call Pamela Jenkins at 417-862-5567.

Wellness fair

The Southwest Missouri Office on Aging Foundation will sponsor the 2003 Wellness Fair 9 a.m.-3 p.m., April 25 at the Oasis Inn and Convention Center located near the North Town Mall. The fair is free and open to the public.

Keynote speaker Stacy Johnson, writer and producer of the Money Talks television news series, will present two sessions. The first session at 10 a.m. and is free to the public. This session will cover aspects of fraud such as Medicare and Medicaid, real estate and telephone fraud. The second presentation at 11:30 a.m. is a luncheon session and book signing, and is sponsored by Great Southern Bank. Cost of this session is $10, which covers lunch. Advanced registration is required by April 15. Booth space also is available for the fair, with proceeds benefiting SWMOA. Free OSHA course

Brittney Inc. is offering a free 30-hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration course to members of Springfield Contractors Association. The course will be held 5-10 p.m. on Thursdays April 17-May 22.

This course will provide insight for supervisors, superintendents and managers on how OSHA rules were promulgated and how to read regulations. All sessions must be attended to receive certification.

At least 15 people and no more than 30 registrants will be accepted for the class.

Slice of Nice

Friends of Springfield Mid-America Singers will present the ninth annual Springfield's Three Tenors in an effort to raise funds for the Mid-America Singers. The evening is set in the Far East at Mr. Yen's. Seating begins at 4:30 p.m. with dinner at 5 p.m. April 27.

Dinner will be followed by a concert with music provided by Jeff Carney, Ray Glover, Richard Honea and Joyce Minasian. Cost of the event is $30 per person, which includes dinner. For more information, contact Susan Uffmann at 417-863-7464.
