The Sertoma Club of Springfield presented the Boys and Girls Club with a check for $10,000 to send 87 children to Kids Across America Camp. The money, raised during Wingapalooza 2002 at Remington's, will provide food, housing, transportation and insurance for children and staff this summer. Photographs are being accepted until July 7 for "My Missouri: Photos that Define the Show-Me State." Winning photos in the contest will appear in the 2003-2004 edition of the Official State Manual. St. Louis-based Gitana Productions seeks nominations of people who perform extraordinary deeds for others without regard to race or nationality. Nominations for "Deeds Beyond Race: Extraordinary/Ordinary Person of the Year" will be accepted until June 20 and should include a one- to two-page essay on why the nominee should receive the award.
