COUNTY RESTAURANT HEALTH INSPECTIONS

Listed here are the restaurant health inspections conducted by the Springfield-Greene County Health Department. Restaurants are inspected for critical and noncritical violations of state standards. According to the Springfield-Greene County inspection code, critical violations are “more likely than other violations to contribute to food contamination, illness and/or injury.” And noncritical violations, “although important to the overall food hygiene of the establishment, do not necessarily present an immediate threat to food contamination, illness and/or injury.” The number of both critical and noncritical violations are given and specific critical violations are listed. *Denotes a critical violation.

Pippin’s Family Restaurant; A103 East Shopping Center, Willard; Critical violations found: 2 * ham and beans on steam table 122-130 degrees. Required to hot hold at 140 and above. Due to short time frame since reheating, beans were reheated quickly to 165 and put back on the steam table. * sliced ham and turkey in baggies dated to be used by 10/12. Today is 10/15. Meat was discarded. Noncritical violations found: 5

Price Cutter No.17; 1013 E. Republic; Critical violations found: 3 * deli hot case holding food temps less than 140 degrees, when chicken temperatures varied from 130-158 internally. Two heat lamps burnt out causing cool spots. * undercounter fridge in deli has food temperatures above 45 degrees when the relish is 58 degrees. The only perishable items in this unit were an open bottle of dressing and mayo-both were discarded. * pastry decorating tips washed while still in the bag-lots of frosting still in the tips.
