Listed here are the restaurant health inspections conducted by the Springfield-Greene County Health Department. Restaurants are inspected for critical and noncritical violations of state standards. According to the Springfield-Greene County inspection code, critical violations are “more likely than other violations to contribute to food contamination, illness and/or injury.” And noncritical violations, “although important to the overall food hygiene of the establishment, do not necessarily present an immediate threat to food contamination, illness and/or injury.” The number of both critical and noncritical violations are given and specific critical violations are listed. *Denotes a critical violation.

Potentially hazardous food moved to milk cooler (38 F) until unit repaired. Noncritical violations found: 0,

Greene Valley School, 1601 E. Pythian St.; Reinspection: Reach-in cooler 39 F–40 F. Critical violation corrected. No violations found.

Krispy Kreme, 720 N. Glenstone Ave.; Critical violations found: 1. *No backflow prevention device on hose by donut line. (Must install a backflow prevention device or not use a hose on this faucet.). Noncritical violations found: 1.

New York Pizzeria, 3624 E. Sunshine St.; Critical violations found: 0. Noncritical violations found: 3.

Pan Pacific Grill, 2825 S. Glenstone Ave.; Critical violations found: 3. *Chicken and shrimp (raw) in refrigerated drawers under cookline are not holding at 41 F and below when temperatures range 44 F–49 F. *Pans containing food residue found on “clean” pan shelf, dried on discolored vegetables on food processor. *No sanitizer used in third sink when asked to set up for dishwashing. Discussed proper method to set up three sinks for dishwashing. Noncritical violations found: 5.

Pizza Hut, 2911 E. Sunshine; Critical violations found: 5. *Employee not washing hands after cigarette break and before starting back to work (must wash hands when contaminated, before work and before glove use). *Drinking in kitchen from open cup (must have lid and straw). *Salad bar cold-holding unit never turned on, all foods not cold holding on buffet discarded. *Sanitizing solution weak at 10 ppm (must be 50–100 ppm chlorine solution). *Soda nozzles not clean (clean and sanitize). Noncritical violations found: 4.

Pizza Hut, 2911 E. Sunshine; Reinspection: All critical violations corrected – salad bar cold holding adequately, soda nozzles clean and sanitized, hand washing policies in place and staff educated, closed drinking cups, sanitizing solution at a proper strength 50–100 ppm chlorine. Critical violations found: 0. Noncritical violations found: 3.

Steak Out, 550 E. Chestnut Expressway; Critical violations found: 3. *Employee/manager put on gloves without washing hands first. (Requires hand washing prior to putting on gloves.) Education given. *Chlorine sanitizer less than 50 ppm and then to greater than 100 ppm. Corrected to 50-100 ppm. *Cleaners located above sanitizer sink and on drain board next to sanitizer sink. Chemicals to be stored separate from food, food-prep areas and from clean equipment. Corrected by relocated chemicals to appropriate location. Noncritical violations found: 6.

Subway Sandwiches & Salads, 1120 S. Glenstone; Critical violations found: 1. *One open bait station. (Must be tamper-resistant) Noncritical violations found: 4.

The Repair Shop, 2251 E. Kearney St.; Critical violations found: 6. *A few baked potatoes were 82-87 F at 2:30 PM. Immediately discarded. (Must hold potentially hazardous foods at 140 F or above.) *Meat slicer was not clean. (Must clean and sanitize more frequently.) *Inside of microwave oven and drink dispenser gun were not clean. (Must clean and sanitize more frequently.) *Dish machine was out of sanitizer – promptly replaced bucket and primed unit. (Must ensure final rinse has 50-100 ppm chlorine.) *Mop sink was plugged and standing full of wastewater, all other drains were operational. (Must unplug drain.) *Drain line broke under hand sink in employee restroom. (Must be repaired.) Noncritical violations found: 5.

Uncle Fudd’s Cafe, 333 E. Saint Louis St.; Reinspection. Chlorine sanitizer at 50 ppm. Critical violation corrected. Critical violations found: 0. Noncritical violations found: 0.
