Listed here are the restaurant health inspections conducted by the Springfield-Greene County Health Department. Restaurants are inspected for critical and noncritical violations of state standards. According to the Springfield-Greene County inspection code, critical violations are “more likely than other violations to contribute to food contamination, illness and/or injury.” And noncritical violations, “although important to the overall food hygiene of the establishment, do not necessarily present an immediate threat to food contamination, illness and/or injury.” The number of both critical and noncritical violations are given and specific critical violations are listed. *Denotes a critical violation.

Campbell 16 Ciné, 4005 South Avenue; Discussed employee hair restraints and calibrating stem thermometers. Critical violations found: 1. *Employee found washing knives, not sanitizing and drying with a paper towel. (Properly wash, rinse, sanitize, and then air dry these food utensils.) Corrected at time of inspection verbally. Noncritical violations found: 2.

College Street Café, 1622 College St.; Reinspection. A second reinspection is required. Critical violations found: 1. *Evidence of mice still found under the counter among the soda canisters. They do have some pest control in place, including bait stations and glue boards. Noncritical violations found: 0.

Confetti’s Nite Club, 3005 S. Kansas Expressway; Critical violations found: 1. *Spray bottles of chemical not labeled. (Once a chemical is moved from original container, it must be labeled with common name.) Corrected immediately. Noncritical violations found: 4.

Deano’s Tavern, 2535 W. Olive St.; Discussed carpet not a great choice for behind the bar and in the restroom but it is already in place. Critical violations found: 0. Noncritical violations found: 1.

Domino’s Pizza, 2565 E. Sunshine St.; Pre-opening inspection. Critical violations found: 0. Noncritical violations found: 0.

Franciscan Villa, 620 W. Scott St.; Critical violations found: 2. *Pepper gravy 110 F in walk-in cooler about 10 a.m. (Requires cooling from 135 F to 70 F within two hours and then to 41 F or below within four hours.) Corrected by discarding. *Open pickle loaf dated 12/18–12/28, southwest ranch sour cream dip dated 06/31 and chocolate yogurt dip dated 10/22. Corrected by discarding. Hong Kong Garden, 625 N. Glenstone Ave.; This violation was cited as a result of a special investigation after storm. Critical violations found: 1. *Six bus tubs of deep fried chicken were setting on counter at 10:15 a.m. and were 67 F–71 F. Immediately discarded. (Must ensure that potentially hazardous foods are cooled properly and held at 41 F or below.) Noncritical violations found: 0.

IHOP, 3804 S. Glenstone Ave.; Critical violations found: 2. *In use knives stored in unclean crevices, few unclean knives stored in storage rack. Corrected. *Evidence of roaches. (Continue pest control to eliminate the problem.) Noncritical violations found: 5.

Jade Dynasty, 300 E. Battlefield Road; Reinspection will be conducted on 1/8/08 to confirm all corrections. Critical violations found: 3. *Can opener found stored not clean. (Wash, rinse, and sanitize this food contact surface on a more frequent basis.) *Inside of ice machine has mold growth. (This solution should be 200 ppm.) *Not all utensils are stored clean: knives in plastic drawer contained food residue. Removed and cleaned at time of inspection. Noncritical violations found: 5.

(Due to chance of cross-contamination, always store raw chicken on bottom shelf under ready-to-eat foods.) Chicken moved. *Not all potentially hazardous foods are held at 41 F or less or 135 F or more: cooked pasta is being held at room temperature next to stove, with internal temperature 67 F.
