City Restaurant Health Inspections

Listed here are the restaurant health inspections conducted by the Springfield-Greene County Health Department. Restaurants are inspected for critical and noncritical violations of state standards. According to the Springfield-Greene County inspection code, critical violations are “more likely than other violations to contribute to food contamination, illness and/or injury.” And noncritical violations, “although important to the overall food hygiene of the establishment, do not necessarily present an immediate threat to food contamination, illness and/or injury.” The number of both critical and noncritical violations are given and specific critical violations are listed. *Denotes a critical violation.

Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar, 2430 N. Glenstone; Critical violations found: 2. *Plastic container used in ice is not food-grade. (Must replace with a food-grade container.) *Bar’s dish machine was out of sanitizer -– less than 10 ppm chlorine in final rinse. (Must ensure 50–100 ppm chlorine in final rinse.) Noncritical violations found: 5.

Bangkok City, 1129 E. Walnut; Critical violations found: 3. *Spoiled milk dated Dec. 2 in kitchen and thawed ice cream in bar freezer. Food that is unsafe, adulterated or contaminated shall be discarded. Corrected by discarding. *Drink dispenser gun at bar was not clean – repeat violation. Clean and sanitize more frequently. *Utensils and equipment in clean kitchen storage were not clean. Clean equipment and utensils prior to storage. Noncritical violations found: 6.

Bangkok City, 1129 E. Walnut; Reinspection: Critical violations corrected. No violations found.

Captain D’s, 839 N. Glenstone; Reinspection: Actions have been taken to minimize mice including patching holes with steel wool. Critical violations found: 0. Noncritical violations found: 2.

Drury Inn & Suites, 2715 N. Glenstone; Critical violations found: 0. Noncritical violations found: 4.

Fazolis, 2137 N. Glenstone; Critical violations found: 1. *Inside of ice machine was not clean. (Must clean and sanitize more frequently.) Noncritical violations found: 4.

Incredibly Edible Delites, 909 E. Monclair; Reinspection: complaint generated. No violations found.

Kum & Go No. 464, 2808 S. Campbell; Critical violations found: 0. Noncritical violations found: 6.

Kum & Go No. 468, 609 E. Elm: Critical violations found: 1. *Chili and cheese dispenser holding product at 94 F. Potentially hazardous foods must be held hot, greater than 140 F, or held cold at less than or equal to 41 F. Product was discarded. Manager will call when dispenser is repaired or replaced. Noncritical violations found: 2.

Kum & Go No. 469, 529 S. Grant; Critical violations found: 2. *Hotdogs at 131 F. Put on roller grill around 1 p.m. Grill turned up. Make sure any leftovers are discarded by 5 p.m. *Tongs stored in dirty container, removed and replaced with clean container. Noncritical violations found: 2.

Lakeland Regional Hospital, 440 S. Market; Reinspection: corrections: All foods dated, nothing held beyond seven days. Pre-spray hose now hangs above flood rim of sink. No violations found.

Nearly Famous Delicatessen, 1828 S. Kentwood; Critical violations found: 0. Noncritical violations found: 6.

Patton Alley Pub, 313 S. Patton; Critical violations found: 2. *Fondue cooling in large pans. Place in smaller pans or ice bath to cool to 70 F – corrected by separating into two pans. *Spray bottle has incorrect labeling. When placing water or cleaner in bottle it must be labeled. Corrected by discarding. Noncritical violations found: 4.

Subway, 3424 S. Glenstone; inspection done in conjunction with complaint. Critical violations found: 0. Noncritical violations found: 2.

Subway, 303 E. Battlefield ; Critical violations found: 2. *Pre-cooked meatballs out on back counter 57 F. Discarded by manager. Foods must be held hot at greater than 140 F or held cold at less than 41 F. *Ice scoop in unclean storage container (wash and sanitize at least once every 24 hours). Noncritical violations found: 2.

Traffic Downtown Club and Sushi Bar, 220 W. Walnut; Critical violations found: 1. *Shrimp on self-serve table is 51 F. Discarded. Potentially hazardous foods must maintain 41 F or below. Noncritical violations found: 1.

University Plaza Atrium Lounge, 333 John Q. Hammons; Critical violations found: 1. *Cutting board scored and stained, unable to sanitize effectively. Resurface cutting board or replace. Corrected, and cutting board replaced. Noncritical violations found: 1.

University Plaza-Main Kitchen, 333 John Q. Hammons Parkway; Critical violations found: 1. *Chicken soup at 120 F. Potentially hazardous food to be held at 140 F or above. If time is used as a control, have written procedures as well as time and temperature log. Corrected – soup was reheated and held at 140 F. Noncritical violations found: 6.

Waffle House No. 471, 3326 E. Kearney; Critical violations found: 1. *Some evidence of mice in dry storage area. (Must take actions to minimize mice and clean up area.) Noncritical violations found: 4.

Spatula was thrown away. *Improper storage of toxics. Specifically: Spray bottles of cleaner hanging next to clean pitchers. Corrected on site. Noncritical violations found: 3.
