Listed here are the restaurant health inspections conducted by the Springfield-Greene County Health Department. Restaurants are inspected for critical and noncritical violations of state standards. According to the Springfield-Greene County inspection code, critical violations are “more likely than other violations to contribute to food contamination, illness and/or injury.” And noncritical violations, “although important to the overall food hygiene of the establishment, do not necessarily present an immediate threat to food contamination, illness and/or injury.” The number of both critical and noncritical violations are given and specific critical violations are listed. *Denotes a critical violation.

Barbara’s Beer Garden, 2109 N. Glenstone; Critical violations found: 2. *Soda drink dispenser gun was not clean. (Must clean and sanitize more frequently.) *Bottles of tonic water and Zima were being stored with containers of cleaners and chemicals. (Must relocate chemicals or bottled beverages to prevent possible contamination.) Noncritical violations found: 5.

Barbara’s Beer Garden, 2109 N. Glenstone; Reinspection: Soda and beer were being stored away from cleaners at this time. Soda drink dispenser heads were clean. Critical violations found: 0. Noncritical violations found: 2.

Fish Casual Dining, 900 E. Battlefield; No violations. Permitted.

Java Planet, 2825 S. Glenstone; Critical violations found: 0. Noncritical violations found: 4.

Jump Stop Grill, 2540 N. Glenstone; Critical violations found: 3. *Chicken strips in hot-hold unit were 123 degrees F at 2:40 p.m. (Promptly refrigerated – since out just over an hour – must be kept at 140 degrees F or above.) *Several flies in food-service area. (Must take actions to minimize flies.) *Some containers of cleaners stored above food contact surfaces or canned food items. Promptly relocated. (Must store chemicals and cleaners in a way to prevent possible contamination.) Noncritical violations found: 7.

Jump Stop Grill, 2540 N. Glenstone; Reinspection: Hot-hold foods were at proper temperatures. Chemicals and cleaners were being stored appropriately at this time. Electric cord and timer had been removed. Critical violations found: 1. *Some flies in food-service area. (Must take actions to minimize flies.) Noncritical violations found: 3.

Kum & Go No. 472, 1505 N. National; Reinspection: Soda nozzles were cleaned and sanitized. Ice chutes at drink dispensers were cleaned and sanitized. Tongs used for food were cleaned and sanitized and stored in a clean, dry location. Critical violations found: 1 *Ice scoops used in ice machine are cracked and broken. Requires food contact utensils to be free of cracks and breaks. Noncritical violations found: 2.

Kum & Go No. 468, 609 E. Elm; Critical violations found: 2. *One soda nozzle had large amount of mold inside. Corrected by cleaning and sanitizing. *Ice chute has areas of mold. Corrected by cleaning and sanitizing. Noncritical violations found: 1.

Kum & Go No. 473, 620 N. National; Reinspection: Critical violations were corrected. Soda nozzles and ice chutes were cleaned and sanitized. All noncritical violations were corrected. No violations found.

Kum & Go No. 474, 2930 S. National; Critical violations found: 3. *Inside of ice machine has areas of mold. Requires dumping ice, cleaning and sanitizing interior. *Beverage dispensing nozzles have build-up of mold. Requires cleaning and sanitizing. *Ice chute and ice chute dispensing lid at the beverage dispensing machines have build-up of mold. Noncritical violations found: 2.

Pasta House Co., 4109 S. National; Critical violations found: 2 *Hard-boiled eggs at salad preparation area were not held at 41 degrees F of below. Corrected by discarding. *Cutting board at grill is stained and deeply grooved. Corrected by replacing with smooth, sanitized surface. Noncritical violations found: 5.
