Brenda M. Cirtin, CMC/AAE, city clerk of the city of Springfield, has been accepted as a member in the Academy for Advanced Education of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks. The academy is the professional body of municipal clerks who have continued their level of educational achievement beyond the attainment of the Certified Municipal Clerk award.

Chris Rockafellow and Mark Wright, both of Rockafellow Photography, won the following awards during a recent photographic print competition held by the Professional Photographers of America in Kansas City. Rockafellow won second- and third-place awards; a commercial division, non-master award; and the Fuji Masterpiece Award. Wright won first-, second- and third-place awards; a commercial division, master photographers award; and the Kodak Gallery Award.

Anthony D. Lynn, president of Davis, Lynn & Moots PC, and Andy Marmouget, staff accountant with Davis, Lynn & Moots, recently attended a program offered by Gottlieb & Associates titled "Medicare for SNFs July 1, 1998, and Beyond." The course is designed to further the knowledge of CPAs in the continually changing field of long-term care.

Mark Meinhardt and Harvey Walz, local employees of Southwestern Bell Yellow Pages Inc., have been honored for top sales of the company's Yellow Pages, White Pages, direct-mail and other advertising services. The two were named to the CEO's Circle of Excellence.

Peggy Jurgens, of the Springfield business sales office of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has been named the Midwest Division's Service Representative of the Year for 1997. Jurgens has also been named to the Superior Service Club for her outstanding customer service in 1997.

The news department at Hometown Radio 106.3 FM KRZK and 100.1 FM KOMC has been named a regional winner of the Edward R. Murrow Award for the "best use of sound" in the small-market radio category. The winning entry highlighted several activities that took place in Branson during the Veterans' Homecoming Celebration last November. Hometown Radio's entry will go on to compete against eight other entries from around the country.

Gene Summers, CIC, and Nancy Mason, CIC, both of Great Southern Insurance, have completed a Society of Certified Insurance Counselors program to meet the CIC annual continuing education requirement and retain their CIC designations.

Derek Hoopes, service manager of Robinett Business Systems, recently attended Minolta's Service Managers' Convention, and Scott Hewlett, field service supervisor, has successfully completed intense training on Minolta's latest line of digital/paper-handling copiers.
