Larry Asel has been awarded the Richard D. Gaynor Award for Excellence in Research, Engineering, and Standards by the National Ready-Mix Concrete Association. Asel has been involved with the association for 28

years.

Bell Building Systems Inc. was presented the No. 1 Region Volume Builder of the Year Award by Butler Manufacturing Company, a manufacturer of pre-engineered metal building systems. The award is presented to the region's Butler Builder who sold the most Butler roof, wall and structural products in an eight-state region.

Gareld L. "Borgie" Borgstadt, PE, was presented the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers' Extra Mile Resolution award June 25. The award is given to people making outstanding contributions to the objectives of the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers.

Morris Dock, owner of MoDoCo General Contractors, attended an awards ceremony in Washington where he received two certificates of appreciation from Rodney E. Slater, secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation, for his participation and contributions in the past 2 1/2 years on the Damage Prevention Quality Action Team Task Force.

Amy Host Ruggeri, PE, was named the 1999 Young Engineer of the Year by the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers. Ruggeri is senior engineer for water systems planning at City Utilities of Springfield.

Kevin C. Skibiski, PE, RLS, of Ozark, has been elected vice president of the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers. Installation ceremonies were held June 26 at MSPE's 62nd annual convention. Skibiski is director of engineering for Scott Consulting Engineers.
