Fred Ulrich, owner of Ulrich Marine, has been honored with a Boat & Motor Dealer 1997 Achievement Award for commitment to conservation. The marine retailer publication selected Ulrich for his efforts to conserve many species of fish, as well as the sport of tournament fishing, in middle America. Ulrich was profiled in the December 1997 issue of Boat & Motor Dealer.

The Ozark Branch, Mid-America Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society has announced its new board members for the 1997-98 fiscal year: Sandi Ames, RN, St. John's Regional Health Center; Blake Cully, Cox Medical Center South; Scott Duff, MD, Ferrell-Duncan Clinic; Carl Harkins, Olive & Harkins Creative Group Inc.; Jon Swope, St. John's Regional Health Center.

Bass Pro Shops received the National Forest Foundation's Partner in Conservation Award for its support of conservation and education projects on national forests. During the past year, Bass Pro Shops sponsored a resort naturalist at Big Cedar Lodge in Ridgedale, Mo., and co-produced a guide to fishing opportunities in Missouri and Arkansas.

Faunlee Harle, a sales associate with Coldwell Banker Vanguard, Realtors, has been awarded the certified residential specialist designation by the Residential Sales Council of the Realtors National Marketing Institute.

Proceeds from the Nike Ozarks Open were distributed to the Boys & Girls Club of Springfield, Ronald McDonald House of the Ozarks, Southwest Area Special Olympics, and A Sporting Chance. A special celebration and check presentation was held at the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.

JMARK Systems Inc. has been recognized as an official Intel Processor Dealer. This recognition now offers JMARK worldwide resources in training, purchasing and warranty protection.

Burrell Behavioral Health received the second annual Metropolitan Life Foundation Award of $15,000 for Excellence in Affordable Housing. The award was presented at the Enterprise Foundation's 16th Annual Network Conference in Washington, D.C.

Junior Achievement of the Ozarks has dedicated a plaque honoring the 1992-1996 Junior Achievement Greater Ozarks Business Hall of Fame Laureates. The plaque was donated by the Jared Family in memory of Clarence Wheeler and the plaque will hang in the Business Solution Center of The Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce.

Jim White, division manager at the Rolla branch of Ozarks Coca-Cola/Dr Pepper Bottling Company, was named the Outstanding Salesperson of the Year for the Dr Pepper bottle/can business. White has been with Coca-Cola/ Dr Pepper Bottling Company for 26 years.

The Shepherd of the Hills was honored with a Golden Eagle Award for supporting scouting in the Branson/Tri-Lakes area by The Ozark Trails Council of the Boy Scouts of America. The award was given during a recent luncheon in Branson.
