The Missouri Concrete Masonry Council's officers and members have selected Chris Nattinger of Nattinger Materials Co. as the 1998 Cornerstone Award recipient. Nattinger has contributed significantly to the stability and growth of the concrete and masonry industry.
The Home Builders Association of Greater Springfield has elected members of the board of directors and officers of the board. The officers for 1999 are Sam Bradley, president; Ed Alden, president-elect; J. Russell MacLachlan, treasurer; Brett Godfrey, secretary; and Jim Haseltine, associate member of the board. Re-elected members of the board are Brett Godfrey, Janell Manley, J. Russell MacLachlan, and Russel Caldwell.
Bob Stockdale and Aaron King, of The Wischmeyer Architects, were elected to the board of directors of the American Institute of Architects. Stockdale will serve a three-year term as a board member, while King will be the board's associate director.
The Collins Plaza Hotel & Convention Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was named Property of the year by The Iowa Lodging Association. The hotel, owned and operated by John Q. Hammons Hotels Inc., features 221 deluxe guest rooms, a four-story waterfall, a restaurant, lounge and meeting space.
