Dale Meadors, owner of Meadors Funeral Homes, received a 1998 Sam Walton Business Leader Award, sponsored by the Wal-Mart Foundation and the Republic Wal-Mart.
Meadors was chosen by the Republic Area Chamber of Commerce, which received a $500 grant in Meador's name. Meador was among the more than 1,000 businesspeople in Wal-Mart and Sam's Club communities around the country who received similar awards that benefited local chambers of commerce.
