The Republic R-III School District will show off its high-tech classrooms 9 a.m.-noon Dec. 2 at the Republic High School, 688 E. Hines.
Republic is among 11 Missouri school districts chosen to participate in the state's first "Technology in Education Week" Nov. 30-Dec. 4. The Republic demonstration site will enable parents, community leaders, school board members and legislators to get a first-hand look at the benefits of technology in the classroom.
In 1998, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education conducted the "School District Census of Technology," a statewide survey. The survey confirmed that public schools in the state have made great strides in acquiring technology, increasing connectivity and developing long-range plans for the improvement of educational technology, according to the Republic School District.
