Jeff and Jennifer Burgess are the new owners of The Wash House, a laundry at 428 N. Hwy. 60. The 3,000-square-foot nonsmoking facility has 32 top-loading washers, 18 dryers and four double-load washers.
To keep customers entertained, the Burgesses have added a snack bar, expanded cable TV, children's toys, a video game and a pinball machine.
Winter hours are 8 a.m.-9 p.m. The business also offers same-day drop-off service, ironing and starching.

Under construction beside the existing Republic branch of the Springfield-Greene County Library District – which remains in operation throughout the project – is a new building that will double the size of the original, according to library officials.
