Ozark natives Babette Greer-Farrar and Kent Farrar received three blue-ribbon awards in the dairy products division of the 1998 Missouri State Fair for their ice cream.
The Farrars own Scoops, an ice cream shop located in Hollister. Scoops features a nostalgic '50s motif and serves ice cream desserts, soup and sandwiches.
The Missouri State Milk Board awarded the Farrars their ribbons at the state fair in Sedalia.
Ice cream entries were limited to vanilla and chocolate. The Farrars won first place in the classes of premium, all-natural vanilla ice cream; commercial or regular vanilla ice cream; and all-natural chocolate ice cream.
Scoops opens at 11 a.m. daily April through mid-December. The shop is located across from the scenic lookout on Highway 165, south of Hollister. [[In-content Ad]]
