Shannon Stewart has resigned as executive director of the Nixa Area Chamber of Commerce, effective Oct. 23. She has accepted a recreation aid position at Oak Grove Community Center with the Springfield Parks Department to use her recreation and leisure degree from Southwest Missouri State University.
Stewart began working at the Chamber since July 1997. The Nixa Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors is seeking someone to fill the full-time position.
