Mo' Speed Street Rod auto parts open

Car enthusiasts looking for mo' speed now have a dealer specializing in street rod, custom, and performance auto parts. Mo' Speed Street Rod and Performance Parts opened at 1238 North Bryan Drive.

Owners Randy and Teresa Bruns turned the former Carpet Values store into a showroom featuring classic cars and nostalgic decor with barn wood walls, a thermometer collection, Coca Cola ceiling fans, and black-and-white tile floors. Mo' Speed will also carry sport compact, dragster and truck parts.

"There will be nobody else like us," Randy Bruns said. The interest in performance cars and shows like the Street Rod Nationals in Springfield prompted the Bruns to get into the business.

The store will be open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and the phone number is 724-2118.
