Heritage Reunion set for Sept. 25
The Fair Grove Historical and Preservation Society will hold its Heritage Reunion Sept. 25-26. The event is an arts and crafts show with about 300 booths. Among the displays will be demonstrations of turn-of-the-century crafts, music and dancing. There will be a parade at 10 a.m. Sept. 25. The two-day event will also feature horse and mule obstacle-course demonstrations, threshing, baling, antique-tractor pulls and lots to eat. The reunion's hours are 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Sept. 25 and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Sept. 26. More information is available from Marilyn Smith, 833-3467.
Chamber sets June 24 after hours event
The Nixa Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a business after hours event at 5:30 p.m. June 24 at Aire-Master of America, 1921 N. Hwy. CC. The event is sponsored by Sharp Signs and Mazzio's Pizza. There will be food, fun and networking opportunities.
Rib spot opens on Mt. Vernon Street
Henry Lee's Smoked Ribs is open at 510 W. Mt. Vernon St. in the Nixa Hardware parking lot. The owners are Henry and Jean Bennett, who can be reached at 724-8502. The business is open 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
Chamber ribbon cuttings set for June
Three ribbon cuttings will be sponsored by the Nixa chamber. DeWitt Insurance will hold its event at 10 a.m. June 16 at 730 Center Circle. Haymes Insurance will celebrate a new location at 2 p.m. June 18 in the Business Center, 411-F Northview Road. And The Money Tree will hold a ribbon cutting at 2 p.m. June 22 at the corner of Tracker Road and Highway 160.
July 10 marks Empire Bank grand opening
The 16th Empire Bank location opened in Ozark June 14. An Ozark Area Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting will be held at 11:30 a.m. July 9 at 1520 W. Jackson. A grand opening will be held 10 a.m.-2 p.m. July 10. Customers may enter a drawing that day that includes giveaway items such as a savings bond, a grill, Ozark Mountain Ducks tickets and gift certificates from Murfin's Market, MFA Town & Country, Spring Creek Antiques and Lambert's Cafe. Until Oct. 30, Empire Bank will offer a 0.25 percent loan discount on new personal loans and a free box of checks for new customers, according to banking center manager and loan officer Carol Lafferty. The bank's drive-through windows are open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m.-noon Saturday. Lobby hours are 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, and 9 a.m.-noon Saturday.
