Marshfield holds Hometown Harvest Days
Organizers expect attendance in the thousands for the 30th annual Hometown Harvest Days in Marshfield Sept. 17-18 at the Webster County Fairgrounds, sponsored by the Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce.
More than 100 booths were reserved for the two-day event, featuring arts, crafts, food, children's activities, business, health and safety information. Other booths were to feature demonstrations by spinners, loom weavers, quilters and sign makers. Musical entertainment, a children's train, puppet shows, a petting zoo, tomahawk throwing and other activities were also scheduled.
The Southwest Missouri Model A Car Club was the headline feature Sept. 18, along with a display of antique farm machinery from Walnut Springs Farm & Museum. KTTS was set to broadcast from the festival.
The Hometown Harvest Days was also the site of the finish line for the second annual Race to the Square. The cross-country race was slated to start in Seymour the morning of Sept. 18, with participants expected to arrive in Marshfield in early afternoon. The teams compete for a $1,000 prize.
The Fairgrounds Kitchen will be open both days of the event, with members of the Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce serving a full menu of items.
