Nixa has a new carwash at the corner of highways 14 and M in west Nixa, adjacent to Mr. Mart. Owner Kevin Heitland, who has two Mr. Mart Conoco convenience stores in Nixa, added a 3,000-square-foot carwash with five bays. The carwash opened in mid-September and features one automatic bay and four self-serve carwashes. Mr. Mart has been in business for five years at 1306 W. Mt. Vernon. "We had the room and we had the traffic count. We were able to do it and the timing was right," Heitland said. He said he expects to see more traffic when the new Nixa High School opens in fall 2000 one mile south on M Highway, and as more subdivisions are added near the intersection. The general contractor was B&R Builders Inc. of Fair Grove.
