Chamber programs under way, scheduled
Twenty-three members of the Nixa Area Chamber of Commerce have signed up to adopt 25 classrooms in the chamber's new Adopt-A-Class partnership with the Nixa School District.
The adopting companies will work with teachers from Espy, Mathews, Thomas and Inman elementary schools on two events that advance learning in the classroom. More companies are needed to help other classrooms. For more information, call 725-1545.
Working Women in Nixa will meet at noon Oct. 19 at Empire Bank, 502 W. Mt. Vernon.
The program will be given by Theresa Gallup, owner of Kimono Designs by Theresa Inc. The cost for lunch and the program is $6, with food provided by Java Jolt Cafe. Call 725-1545 by Oct. 18 for reservations.
Duprau Industries builds third building
A 15,000-square-foot office/warehouse is being built for Duprau Industries at 1101-1119 Falconcrest in the Nixa Industrial Park. The general contractor, DuWayne Eoff, of Eoff and Associates, said that it is the third building his company has built for Duprau Industries in the park.
The estimated completion date is Feb. 1, 2000. Ron Duprau Jr. said that his company will handle the leasing of the 10 spaces, which are 1,500 square feet each and are suitable for light manufacturing, small warehousing and small tradesmen. The steel building is located just north of the corner of Kathryn Street and Falconcrest in Nixa.
Baca Chiropractic opens on North 20th
Dr. Steven Baca has opened Baca Chiropractic at 751 N. 20th. The office hosted an open house for chamber members and the public Sept. 21. Located in the Diamond Shopping Center near the intersection of highways 65 and 14, this is Baca's first practice after graduating from Southwest Missouri State University and Logan College in St. Louis. The office is open 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday
