Cato adds Nixa, Marshfield stores

Cato is adding two new women's clothing stores in the next few months one in Marshfield and one in Nixa, according to District Manager Sandra Stiles.

Both stores will be located in shopping centers adjacent to the Wal-Mart stores in their communities. The Marshfield store will open in 4,000 square feet May 3, Stiles said.

The Nixa store will be located in 4,000 square feet at 467 W. Aldersgate in the Nixa Centre and will employ 10 people. Cato stores offer shoes, accessories and moderately priced fashions in junior, missy and plus sizes.

"Our motto is look smart, buy smart,'" Stiles said. The Nixa store will open July 3 and store hours will be 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.

According to the company's Web site, at www.catocorporation.com, the company was founded in 1946 and has more than 800 women's apparel stores in 21 states under the names Cato and It's Fashion!

A substantial portion of the company's merchandise is sold under its private labels and is produced by vendors in accordance with the company's specifications. The company is publicly traded and has its headquarters in Charlotte, N.C.

There has been a Cato store in Ozark at 521 N. 21st Street in the Ozark Corners Shopping Center for about three years.
