Luxury hotel chain Omni Hotels & Resorts is being accused of misusing millions of dollars in Paycheck Protection Program funds.
The hotel company allegedly took PPP loans meant to keep workers on payroll but did not pay hundreds of employees, according to service workers union Unite Here. The union also is accusing the company of failing to retain jobs.
An Omni spokesperson said hotel workers had not been retained because the facilities were either closed or operating at greatly reduced capacity, according to NPR.
