OMB Bank has promoted company executive Jeff Palmer to president.
Palmer, who previously served as executive vice president and chief financial officer, will keep his CFO title in addition to the president role, according to a news release. Company founder Mark Harrington will remain CEO.
Palmer's promotion is effective March 27.
“We have a strong team and a clear mission,” Palmer said in the release. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to take on this role and continue working alongside our employees to serve our customers and support our communities that we have always cared so deeply about.”
Palmer has been part of OMB Bank's leadership team since joining the company in 2019, and he has more than two decades of community banking and financial management experience. His career experience includes more than a decade at Stockmens Bank.
As president and CFO of OMB Bank, Palmer will lead the company's day-to-day operations, as well as its financial strategy and accounting responsibilities.
Harrington said in the release that he would remain actively involved in the company.
“I want to be clear that I have no plans to retire,” he said in the release. “I remain fully engaged as CEO and will continue to lead our long-term strategy, work closely with our leadership team and stay actively involved in the direction and performance of the bank. This transition allows me to stay focused on that work while Jeff takes on a larger role in the day-to-day leadership of the bank."
OMB Bank has 10 branches in southwest Missouri and the greater Kansas City metropolitan area, according to the release.
The company ranked No. 4 on Springfield Business Journal's 2025 list of the area's largest banks and savings banks, published Sept. 29. OMB Bank had roughly $1.4 billion in Springfield metropolitan statistical area deposits as of June 30, 2025, representing 8.1% of the market share.
