The Olympic Games have never been postponed or canceled for something other than war, but now, they've been pushed to next year over the coronavirus pandemic.
Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach on Tuesday agreed to postpone the Tokyo 2020 Olympics to 2021. The event had been slated to start on July 24.
Despite the year, the event will still be called the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020, ESPN reports.
