Olsson Associates wins $4.6M in Joplin contracts

Engineering firm Olsson Associates Inc. this month won joint contracts for roughly $4.6 million in street improvement and storm system repairs from the city of Joplin.

The four projects will be led by Olsson, with work by CJW Transportation Consultants LLC, Tri-State Engineering Inc. and TranSystems, according to company spokeswoman Nancy Wichmer.

The largest project calls for $2 million in Main Street improvements from 15th Street to 32nd Street in the city, Wicher said via email. The other projects are:
    •    $1.7 million to widen 32nd Street from Schifferdecker Avenue to Central City Road;
    •    $899,000 - via state and federal government funding - for 20th Street improvements from Main to Connecticut Avenue; and
    •    over $95,000 to conduct sewer repairs at 8th Street and Patterson Avenue.

Joplin City Council awarded the projects during its Sept. 8 meeting.
