Olsson Associates opens Springfield office

According to a news release from the company, the Springfield office is in a temporary location at 3051 S. Kimbrough, Ste. E, where it will remain until February, at which time it will move to a larger undisclosed location.

Olsson Associates provides engineering, planning, landscape architecture, surveying, building system commissioning, construction observation and environmental science services. Initially, the Springfield office is providing services in transportation, water resources, surveying and land planning and development.

“Springfield is a rapidly growing community full of both residential and commercial activity,” said Chip Corcoran, Olsson Associates regional manager for the Springfield and Kansas City markets, in the release. He said the area is a “natural fit” for Olsson.

Kevin Lowe, former Greene County Highway Administrator, is the company’s first new employee for the Springfield office, where several staff members from the Kansas City metropolitan area have transferred.

“Leaving the county was a tough decision,” Lowe said in the release.

“The commitment Olsson shows to (its) clients and (its) staff really impressed me and factored into my decision to make a career change.”

In addition to offices in Overland Park, Kan., and Riverside, Olsson Associates has offices in Colorado, Arizona, Minnesota, Nebraska and Iowa.
