New York Times best-selling author, political commentator and former U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Col. Oliver North is scheduled to appear at Bass Pro Shops' Springfield and Branson stores to sign copies of his new book.

North is slated to visit Springfield 1-3 p.m. Nov. 10 at Bass Pro's flagship store, 1935 S. Campbell Ave., to sign copies of "American Heroes on the Homefront: The Hearts of Heroes," which debuts today, according to a news release.

North - who also serves as the TV host of "War Stories" on Fox News and is credited as the military consultant for the 2012 video game "Call of Duty: Black Ops II," for which he voiced a small part - plans to be in Branson 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 11 at Bass Pro's Branson Landing store.

North also serves on the board of directors for the National Rifle Association, which partners with Bass Pro on the NRA National Sporting Arms Museum inside the Springfield store.
