Olive Garden's never-ending comeback

Less is more when talking pasta sauce versus profits at Olive Garden. Stock in parent company Darden Restaurants has gone up 40 percent since October, reports CNNMoney.
 
That's when investment firm Starboard took control of Darden's board, hired a new CEO and then gave Darden a now-infamous dressing down over Olive Garden's food. The chain's change included pasta swamped in sauce and endless breadsticks and pasta bowls.
 
Apparently, cutting back on waste is working. In addition to witnessing its first sales growth since 2010, Olive Garden is reporting increased dessert and alcohol sales, the report states.
