Darden Restaurants Inc., the parent company of Olive Garden, reported fiscal first-quarter net income of $119 million, an 8 percent increase.
Sales moved up 12.9 percent to $1.9 billion, ahead of analysts' projections.
Still, comparable store sales were up 1.7 percent, short of the 2.1 percent growth Wall Street had expected.
