Darden Restaurants Inc. reported fiscal first-quarter profits of $166.2 million.
Adjusted to account for discontinued operations, earnings per share came to $1.34.
The owner of Olive Garden and other chain restaurants beat expectations of $1.23 per share. Its $2.06 billion in revenue also was above forecasts of $2.03 billion by analysts.
