Oklahoma Joe's will switch name to Joe's Kansas City Bar-B-Que

Kansas City, Kan.-based Oklahoma Joe's  Bar-B-Que announced a name change to Joe's Kansas City Bar-B-Que, the Kansas City Star reports. Restaurant signage will reflect the new name by early December.

Owners Jeff and Joy Stehney and Joe Don Davidson opened the first Oklahoma Joe's in January 1996 in Stillwater, Okla. The location closed in 1997.

The first Kansas City-area Oklahoma Joe's restaurant opened in August 1996. The company has since expanded to three locations in the region, according to the Kansas City Business Journal.

The soon-to-be-renamed Joe's Kansas City Bar-B-Que has been nationally recognized on websites and in magazines including the Daily Meal, Yelp and Men's Health Magazine, according to the Kansas City Business Journal.
